Nermin Abdić, the holder of the DPS list "In word and deed" in the upcoming local elections in Podgorica, said that their program envisages solving the problem of legalization of illegally built buildings on the territory of the capital.
"We are aware that the problem of illegal buildings is an existential issue for tens of thousands of residents of our city. That is why we are ready to tackle this challenge and solve it within a realistic time frame and to the satisfaction of our fellow citizens. The legalization process is unrealistically long, and disproportionately a small number of citizens who brought that process to an end," said Abdić in a statement sent to the media.
After September 29, the new city administration, with, hopefully, successful cooperation with the Government of Montenegro, will enable all citizens to legalize their facility, he added.
Abdić promised that through amendments to the Law on Legalization of Buildings, he will insist that legalization does not depend on valid planning documents, that is, that all buildings that are not in protected zones and on infrastructure corridors are legalized.
"For those residents of our city who started the construction of the building after the ortho-photo recording, we will initiate that they can legalize their building with a slightly increased price of the legalization fee. We will increase the discount for basic residential buildings and, what is crucial, all these works will be handled at the city level is the Legalization Agency, whose formation is planned. In this way, we will reduce the costs of fees and processing requests for citizens, and the time required for processing requests will be significantly reduced," concluded Abdić.
