On the occasion of September 18, the Liberation Day of Nikšić, the delegation of the Municipal Committee of the Yugoslav Communist Party of Montenegro (JKPCG) laid flowers on the monument of the national hero Dušan Bojović, whose name is the Elementary School in Miolje Polje, in Nikšić County.
The President of the JKPCG Municipal Committee, Dragoje Strunjaš, evoked memories of the character and work of Dušan Bojović, but also the importance of the national liberation struggle and September 18, the day Nikšić was liberated in the Second World War.
"The monument to the national hero Dušan Bojović, as well as all the other monuments erected in honor of numerous heroes and first-time fighters, represent our best tradition. They are witnesses of our magnificent history, our concept of freedom and the willingness to sacrifice one's life for that freedom and to fight everywhere and everywhere. with every step, first of all, be a man," said Strunjaš.
As he pointed out, a victory is only a victory if it carries within itself the ideal, not only of freedom, but also of justice and truth.
"They not only dreamed of a better world and a fairer society, but also through struggle and personal sacrifice, they did their best to make it happen. Freedom for all, justice for everyone, in the spirit of the truth that we are all human beings who have the right to a dignified life. In this time of consumer society, in which economic interest and personal benefit are put in the forefront of existence, the sacrifice of these great heroes seems even more incredible and for greater admiration. Today, that idealism of our ancestors, that fighting energy that did not know to stand up even in the face of the greatest danger, we need to transform and direct it in the direction of creating a prosperous society made up of free, conscientious and responsible individuals. Only then can we consider that we have repaid these great heroes, that we respect their sacrifice and understand their ideals in the full and true sense, their descendants and heirs, their children and their blood," said Strunjaš.
