The decision he signed refers to the warehouse for the safe storage of weapons and ammunition, not the shooting range, said Preokret councilor in the Danilovgrad Municipal Assembly Vuk Iković and added that if the local authorities had sincere intentions, they would not have forced the residents of Strahinić to protest.
"For literate people, it is clearly written that the solution referred to by the Municipality is a solution for a warehouse for the safe storage of weapons and ammunition, not for a shooting range. So, the solution does not allow a shooting range, but only a storage for weapons. If they had sincere intentions, they would not have put the locals in a situation if they had to block one of the main roads in the country, they would have already solved the issue of the illegal operation of the shooting range last year," says Iković in a statement sent to the media.
He reacted to the accusations of the Municipality of Danilovgrad, where earlier today they said that Iković has double standards, since in 2018, while he was employed in the Secretariat for Urban Planning, he signed a document on which it is written that for the project "A warehouse for the safe storage of weapons, ammunition and explosives material for the needs of an open-type civilian shooting range" does not require an environmental impact assessment.

"Instead of prosecuting the officials who damaged the Municipality and the citizens, they attack those who demand respect for the law. The leadership of the Municipality of Danilovgrad is still silent on the usurpation of the main city square, silent on the employees with fake diplomas, on the criminal project of the city cemetery and wastewater treatment plant, but they are reviewing decisions that were made in favor of the citizens, and they are not guided by the law, but by who will spit in the distance," Iković pointed out.
He added that they probably do not have time for inherited problems from new embezzlements in which they are involved, such as rigging calls for NGO funds or failure to install sewage pipes in the city center, which, as he warned, they will soon have to explain to the prosecution.
"Precisely because I could not apply these same solutions during the previous government, I instructed the municipality. I believed that the new government would apply solutions concerning the environment, but like the previous ones, they continued to block knowledge and those who work for the good of Danilovgrad, even though I and as a Preokret councilor urged the implementation of these same solutions through the local parliament," said Iković.
Councilor Preokret repeated that he is honored to have worked until 2021 in the Municipality of Danilovgrad and that he stands behind everything he has done, but he regrets that the new administration behaves in the same way as the previous one.
"It's sad, but it's our reality, that the leadership can't even determine the place where the corpses of infected cows can be buried. So while the herdsmen are waiting for the leadership, they are slowly running out of livestock, and our food safety is becoming more and more questionable. When the Municipality can't to serve the citizens for what she is paid for, it is difficult to expect her to do anything more. I will continue, I will not give up the fight, and let the citizens decide who works for and who against them," concluded Iković.
