Bicycle Club (BK) "Perun", as part of the "September Days of Nikšić" event, organized an event called "Bicycling and Cycling for the Youngest", and about a hundred cyclists took part, among which the largest number were preschoolers.
"The goal of the cycling event is to present the bicycle as an ecological means of transportation that does not pollute the environment and an alternative ecological mode of transportation, and cycling as a very modern and attractive form of recreation and sport. Bickl is not just a sports prop, but can be an alternative form of transportation, especially in the narrower part of the city, which would reduce traffic jams and air pollution. If more of us used bicycles every day, they would also contribute to reducing noise," said Ana Petrović Njegoš, the organizer of the event.
The bike ride was organized on World Car Free Day, and Petrović Njegoš invited citizens to turn to using bicycles.
A group of cyclists with the club's guide and coach, with the support of the traffic police and the General Hospital, drove the planned route and told car drivers that there are cyclists on the streets in Nikšić, which, according to Petrović Njegoš, was their goal.
In cooperation with the kindergarten "Kosovka djevka" and with the teachers of the three-hour program, the coaches of BK "Perun" have prepared a program for the youngest - driving along a certain route and polygon driving.
"The shooting range was set up on the plateau in front of the Town Hall, where the youngest participants of the event, in addition to having fun, had the opportunity to acquire the skills of riding a bicycle with given obstacles, wanting to encourage them to take up cycling as a sport and as a useful, healthy pastime," said Petrović Njegoš.
As she pointed out, a large number of preschoolers is very important for the development of cycling. He thanked the coaches, stewards, volunteers, for their professional work and help in organizing another successful event in a series of BK "Perun".
