The Mayor of Podgorica and former Minister of Defense Olivera Injac announced that, during the period when the Ministry of Defense was headed by Predrag Bošković, some cadets who did not meet the requirements were sent to school, but their main "recommendation" was their parents, who held high management positions during the rule of the Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS), even in the defense system.
"I hope that the time of the privileged and deviant system of government has passed, in which the children of some high-ranking state officials and individuals close to the previous regime were sent to study abroad, despite the rules and criteria, and all at the expense of the citizens of Montenegro," it states. in a statement submitted by the Europe Now Movement (PES).
She said that these educations cost the state extra.
"By sending cadets who did not have excellent results during their education, i.e. did not meet the condition in terms of health criteria, in a number of cases it resulted in them being returned from education, because they could not fulfill the demanding study programs, and all these costs were paid by state. That's how the money of the citizens of Montenegro was spent, rewarding the privileged and derogating the best," Injac said.
"Vijesti" announced earlier today that the epilogue of the report sent to KAS three years ago by Injac was that the Ministry of Defense of Montenegro had been endangering the public interest for years in the procedures for selecting cadets for training at military academies abroad, while Predrag Bošković was leading the team department, the state educated dozens of those who should have been disqualified from the competition.
She stated that the fact that the applications she submitted in 2021 were acted upon after three years and after the dismissal of the director of the Agency for the Prevention of Corruption (ASK), Jelena Perović, shows how captive and favorable the institutions were to eligible individuals.
"I regret the most for all the young people who, despite their references, did not get the opportunity they deserved and were not sent to study at military academies, and were denied opportunities for education and career development, and at the end of the day, that deviant value system thwarted the realization of personal goals and dreams. Nevertheless, this decision is an indication that we must persevere in the fight for a just state, a state with equal opportunities for all," concluded Injac.
