The locals of Bogetić gave up on blocking the road, the Municipality of Nikšić came to meet them

Locals of the Bogetići local community have abandoned the blockade of the Nikšuć-Podgorica highway, which they announced for tomorrow, because the local administration came to meet them.

"The President of the Municipal Assembly, Nemanja Vuković, told us that the procurement of the net is in progress and that they must comply with the procedure. We asked that, until the net arrives, they should set up a light signal to disperse wild game. We asked for a light bulb, and we got a light show. Vuković he told us that he would provide us with four light bulbs and already our member, with their workers, is going to install that signaling," said the president of the Bogetići Municipal Council, Mijajlo Škuletić.

As he pointed out, they expect the local administration to fulfill the other requirements, but also to send them a written answer to everything they agreed on, because they want to have everything "in black and white".

The Council of the Ministry of Health, at its session held this morning, decided that if they are not received today by the leaders of the Nikšić local government, tomorrow they will organize a protest in front of the Municipality building, and then a blockade of the Nikšić - Podgorica main road, in the town of Bogetići.

The reason is that the Municipality of Nikšić, as they said, did not comply with the agreement to adequately provide the location where the euthanized heads of cattle infected with kyu fever were buried in the town of Ljeskovi doli.

"We ask that they honor the agreement immediately and provide the location where the cattle infected with the fever are buried. Otherwise, the citizens of Bogetić will first come out in front of the Nikšić Municipality building tomorrow, and then they will block the Nikšić-Podgorica main road. I hope it will not come to that." Mijajlo Škuletić, president of the Bogetići Municipal Council, said after the meeting.

He reminded that 45 head of infected euthanized cattle were buried in Ljesko doli on the night between September 5 and 6, that they visited the field the next day and found that the place was not adequately cleaned, that even a cow's leg was visible.

Škuletić recalled that they had a meeting with the President of the Municipality, Marko Kovačević, and that they were promised then that the place where the euthanized infected cattle were buried would be cleaned in the manner prescribed by law, as well as covered with wire.

"There is the most beautiful oasis on the territory of Nikšić - there are more than 20 bears and a herd of wild boars. The hunting season starts in a week. We all know that bears have no problem spraying that land and digging out buried throats, that wild boars are omnivores and if they eat that meat, there is an infection of unprecedented proportions," said Škuletić.

As he said, the Municipality told him that they should call for a tender for the procurement of wire and that they must follow the legal procedure.

"We are in favor of respecting the law, but where were they when they buried the cows under the cover of night. Why didn't they respect the law then. This is the last moment, the last appeal, to honor the word they gave. They tell us that someone comes out and walks around the field. What it means to them - if it is found that wild pigs have been fed with infected meat, it is the beginning of an epidemic of unprecedented proportions. Now hunting and 700 hunters will be endangered", said the president of the Ministry of Health Bogetići.

At the meeting with the President of the Municipality, which was held on September 9, the Bogetići Municipal Council presented several problems that need to be resolved, but according to Škuletić, everything can be prolonged, only the rehabilitation of the field cannot.

"We ask that they cover it with a net, and the net with earth, so that we can sleep peacefully. All other points can wait," said Škuletić.

Then the local administration promised them that a similar intervention in their local community would not be repeated without the knowledge and consent of the Council of the Ministry of Health.

"We asked them to repair the road to the mentioned location, to build a 500-meter road to Banjević's house, which was the most affected because it is less than 500 meters as the crow flies from the place where the cows were buried. We also asked that, when the first opportunity arises, provide a kilometer of asphalt and rehabilitate the most critical points on the road from Ljeskovi dol to the cottages, to patch potholes, which they did, as well as to repair 28 light bulbs in the village of Drenoštica that have not been working for five years wait, only the rehabilitation of the location cannot wait," said Škuletić.

With the residents of Bogetić, if the highway is blocked, there will also be residents of MZ Poljica and MZ Ubli, Bijela Poljana.

"It is in the immediate vicinity of us and we are most at risk. We are afraid that there will be an infection. This was not done in accordance with the regulations imposed by the profession, and they know that. We demand the responsibility of everyone who did this in this way. We have come here to say that Bigetići will not be alone in every subsequent action and that we will be with them", said Milan Vujović from Bijeli poljane and Periša Nikolić from Broćanac.
