It was not only the Center for Civic Education (CGO) that determined the existence of plagiarism, but also the competent bodies of the University of Montenegro (UCG), the CGO announced regarding the reaction of Bojana Lakićević Đuranović, suspended associate professor of the Faculty of Law.
Lakićević Đuranović said earlier today that CGO is putting pressure on the court, and that the statute of limitations in the process would harm her the most.
She said this in connection with the fact that the CGO wrote to the Judicial and Prosecutorial Council yesterday that, within their jurisdiction, they should review the work of acting judges of the Basic and High Courts in Podgorica, as well as the ODT in Podgorica in the case against Lakićević Đuranović, and to direct their work in with the aim of avoiding the statute of limitations and finalizing this procedure.
"When she proudly points out her professional references, Lakićević Đuranović should know that even if she is released from criminal responsibility, this does not include her amnesty in relation to other types of responsibility, because the competent bodies of the UCG have already taken a position on this issue several times. which means that the academic community has clearly determined its wrongdoing. The defense is largely responsible for the postponement of the hearing in the original proceedings, contrary to what Lakićević Đuranović claims in his response. under the pretext of health problems, the CGE once pointed it out to the prosecutor's office and submitted evidence for it," reads today's announcement of the CGE.
The non-governmental organization (NGO) said that they will continue to closely monitor this and other initiated proceedings against Lakićević Đuranović.
"In the coming days, we will contact the ODT PG (Basic State Prosecutor's Office in Podgorica), also interested in the outcome of the investigation in connection with the break-in at the depot of the Faculty of Law, when exactly those works were replaced that we also suspected were the subject of plagiarism." , concludes the announcement of the CGE.
The proceedings against Lakićević Đuranović, an associate professor at the UCG Faculty of Law, were initiated by the ODT in 2019 after the CGO filed a criminal complaint and indicated that she had integrally transferred parts of the specialist work of a student she was mentoring and published them as her scientific work.
