The "Budvanska Riviera" hotel group sent a letter to the Ministry of Spatial Planning and Urbanism, to the head of the Spatial Plan of Montenegro, to the spatial planner Svetlana Jovanović that during the preparation of that key planning document, right next to the park of the Tourist Village "Slovenska plaža", where the dilapidated hangar is located, he designed a modern conference hall.
The largest hotel company in Montenegro, majority-owned by the state, as the President of the Board of Directors of "Budvanska Riviera" emphasized in a letter that "Vijesti" had access to Mijomir Pejović does not have a large modern conference hall, the construction of which would improve the business results of this company.
The dilapidated metal hangar was used by the Adriatic Fair for two whole decades, after it belonged to the "Budvan Riviera".
Even Budva does not have an adequate conference hall, with the exception of those owned by individual hotels, and the idea promoted by the Municipality entering into a partnership with the Adriatic Fair, by founding the company "Expo Budva" to build a congress hall on the land bordering the plot of TN "Slovenska plaža" center, has failed, because Turkish investors are springing up in that place.
The plot of land on which the management of "Budva Riviera" is asking for a congress hall to be built has been urbanized by the existing planning document Detailed Urban Plan "Budva Center of Amendments and Supplements", and a nine-story building is planned on it.
With this, instead of a building, an unnecessary conference hall would be built.
The hotel group "Budva Riviera" operates six hotels located along the Budva Riviera, starting from the "Mogren", "Slovenske plaža", "Aleksandra" hotels in Budva, to the "Castellastva", "Palas" and "Palas lux" hotels. in Petrovac. Our largest hotel, both territorially and in terms of its importance not only for the development of tourism in Budva, but in Montenegro and the region, which is the Tourist Village "Slovenska Plaža", does not have an adequate conference hall. It is generally known that the modern development of tourism also requires the development of congress tourism. In addition to the extremely good results that the hotel has already recorded for the current season, we consider that the fact that the hotel complex does not have a conference hall is a major drawback," said Pejović in the letter.
Pejović pointed out that the Tourist Village "Slovenska Plaža" celebrated its 40th anniversary this year, which, he emphasized, indicates the need for improvement in the technical part of the hotel, which during the planning and construction period did not include today's tourist standards.
"For this reason, it is understandable why the construction of a modern conference hall was not foreseen in this hotel. The extension of the conference hall would improve the operations of TN "Slovenska plaža" and thus also the operations of HG "Budvanska riviera", Pejović stressed.
He indicated that the construction of the conference hall would be right next to the Slovenske plaže park.
"According to our plan, the construction of the conference hall would be planned in the immediate vicinity of the TN park "Slovenska plaža", on cadastral plot 1442/19KO Budva, the total area of which is 2.095 square meters. According to the detailed urban plan "Budva - center of changes and additions", the plot is part of the urban plot 26.1 whose cadastral plot owners next to us, several legal entities and larger ones are divided into urban plot 26.2 where the owner of the cadastral plots is for the most part HG "Budvanska riviera", said Pejović.
Also, as he added, according to the DUP "Budva center of changes and additions", the plot is crossed by a road, and on the said urban plots, the construction of a ground floor, mezzanine and nine floors with the purpose of tourism is planned.
"In order to improve the tourist offer, which would benefit both our company and other tourism workers, as well as the city of Budva in general, we are turning to you with a request that on the cadastral plot in question, during the preparation of a new planning document that will replace the existing DUP "Budva center "Foresee the existence of the conference hall", concluded Pejović.
