The suspended associate professor of the Faculty of Law, Bojane Lakićević Đuranović, said that the Center for Civic Education (CGO) "by telling untruths" about her, "persistently and blatantly insults", trying to damage her honor and reputation.
She reacted after the CGO announced that not only they, but also the competent bodies of the University of Montenegro (UCG) "established the existence of plagiarism".
We transmit the reaction of Lakićević Đuranović in its entirety:
"I was not surprised by the CGO's re-reaction, because I am aware that this lynching has long since taken on a personal dimension. If it was ever different. In the absence of arguments, and eager to impose their view on the judiciary, socio-political and any other context as the only valid one, CGO came back with incorrect data, innuendo, insinuations and, of course - more pressure.
For the sake of the truth and the public, I will say only this much: the CGO, in addition to the already wanton pressure on the court, i.e. the attempt to take over its role, is now continuing the harangue started in 2019 by brutally deceiving the public. No body of the University of Montenegro or any relevant body/organ in the country has any valid decision on plagiarism, unless the CGE did not substitute the role of the UCG body and did it for them.
Certainly, this aspect of deceiving the public will be treated in a separate procedure, when the whole case gets a judicial epilogue.
No proceedings are being conducted against me in Montenegro, and those that were conducted were legally concluded in my favor. Since 2019, I have been temporarily removed from work, until the ongoing proceedings have been legally concluded, and since then I have not come to the Faculty of Law.
By telling untruths about me, CGO persistently and blatantly insults me, trying to damage my honor and reputation. However, fortunately, the academic community of Montenegro is still much wider than an association of citizens deprived of civic and academic responsibility, and even basic decency.
I wrote these two responses to the CGO accusations for the sake of the public, although I believe that a large part of it has already recognized the true intention of that organization and realizes that further comments are superfluous. Therefore, although I could continue the polemic, I think there is no need to stoop to their level, so I will stop here. The conviction that the judicial authorities will bring the truth to light gives me confidence that justice will be achieved through legal and transparent processes," said Lakićević Đuranović.
