From 11 a.m., the software for checking the data from the census will be active, and citizens can check the data only if they have saved a copy of the census, said the director of the Statistics Authority, Miroslav Pejović.
He said at the session of the Census Monitoring Committee that Monstat was not late with the data, but that they respected the legal decisions that were voted, which also included special software, the development of which had to go through a tender.
"Monstat cannot be blamed for the failure of the tender", he pointed out.
He said that after data entry, multiple data checks and statistical-logical controls were performed.
"The application is available in several languages and contains instructions".
He invited citizens to contact the two lines of the Monstat Info Center 020/230-811 and 068/851-500 if they encounter difficulties.
"We are aware that there are citizens who are not sufficiently computer literate and our doors are open to them. The priority for verification remains the application," said Pejović.
The data will be checked by entering the statistical ID, a nine-digit number from the copy of the census that was handed to each citizen and one of the identification data from the census header.
Pejović said that the matching of data with the MUP was completed yesterday.
"Ninety-eight percent of the data collected by the census was matched with the data of the MUP, by registration number, first and last name, address, father's and mother's name, place of residence... The two percent that are not matched are controlled manually by Monstat, checking each census. We are dealing with 18.000 citizens who, either due to an enumerator's error or because the citizens did not want to provide their identity number, were not matched. It had to be checked according to other criteria," said Pejović.
He said that statistically speaking, this represents a great result.
This is the first list that had so many control mechanisms.
"In addition to the MUP register, we also accessed the registers of the Tax Administration and the Ministry of Education and Science, where data on the number of children in kindergartens and schools are available... An incredible percentage of matching with three sources. There is no greater control than this," Pejović claims.
