As part of the monthly humanitarian campaign, the Volunteers of Montenegro Foundation distributed 150 aid packages with basic living and food items and personal hygiene products in the territory of Nikšić, Šavnik, Podgorica and Bar.
The total value of the donated packages is around 3.500 euros, and the funds were provided with the help of donations from one-time donors of the Foundation, monthly donors of the Foundation and with the help of Monteklas doo.
"We can say that the socio-economic situation in which our users live is very bad, and that they need help from the system. A large number of families live exclusively on material security, and they are tenants and have family members who have complex health problems. In addition to users of material security, we also map as socially vulnerable families who live exclusively on one minimum wage, which until this month amounted to 450 euros," said Jelena Baltić, program manager of the Volunteers of Montenegro Foundation.
Since May of this year, the Foundation, with the help of Elektroprivreda Crne Gore and CEDIS, has enabled the option of monthly donations, in order to ensure continuity in donations by socially responsible citizens and companies, but also to provide continuous assistance to users.
"This option has proven to be a great tool for collecting donations for our users. In addition to monetary donations, citizens donate goods and services to the most vulnerable every day, so we would like to thank them for their socially responsible behavior. This action was also supported by Monteklas doo in the form of a flour donation total amount of 200 kilograms. It is great when socially responsible companies understand the importance of giving to the most vulnerable in the community where they operate. We can do nothing alone, and together we can do everything. We invite everyone who is able to contribute in money, food, clothing, in order to continue providing support to those in a state of social need. All people of good will can make a one-time donation or subscribe to a monthly donation through the site www.volontericrnegore.me or by payment to the giro account of the Volunteers of Montenegro Foundation: 520-9194-41," said Baltić.
