The Battle of Tuđemili is a symbol of the sovereignty of the Montenegrin state, but also of the heroic bravery of the Army of Montenegro throughout history, announced today from the Municipality of Bar.
The announcement states that the Municipality of Bar traditionally celebrated October 7, the Day of the Army of Montenegro.
"With this ceremony, along with the ceremonial machine of the Army's honor guard, wreaths were placed on the monument to the winners from Tuđemil. On behalf of the municipality of Bar, vice-president Tanja Spičanović laid the wreath, who paid her respects to the winners from Tuđemil," the announcement states.
The Municipality of Bar added that, on the occasion of Army Day, the Chief of the General Staff of the Army of Montenegro, Brigadier General Zoran Lazarević, accompanied by the acting (acting) Commander of the Air Force of the Army of Montenegro, Lt. Col. Ljubinko Petić, and the Deputy Commander of the Navy, Captain Corvette, laid a wreath today at Tuđemil. Slobodan Tomašević.
"Army Day is commemorated in memory of the Battle of Bar, a famous historical event in which the army of Duklja, the first Montenegrin state, defended its independence from Byzantium, the great power of that time, precisely at Tuđemili. This battle is a symbol of the sovereignty of the Montenegrin state, but also of the heroic bravery of the Army of Montenegro throughout history," concludes the announcement of the Municipality of Bar.
