The contract on the development of the project for the construction of the General Hospital in Pjevlje according to the "design and build" principle was signed in the Government of Montenegro, the Ministry of Health announced.
As stated, the contract was signed in the presence of Prime Minister Milojko Spajić and Minister of Health Vojislav Šimun by the director of the Capital Investments Directorate, Esmin Bećović and Dejan Burčul, as representatives of the Consortium (firm) that will participate as contractors in the realization of this project.
Spajić said that with today's signing of the Agreement, what was announced a few months ago has been made concrete, and that the development of the main project for the new hospital in Pljevlja is starting, and that construction is expected to start in half a year.
"The last time the hospital in Pljevlja was built was in the 60s, and finally, after decades of empty promises, the citizens of this part of the country will receive state-of-the-art health care. Close to 40 million euros will be allocated for the new hospital, and this is just one in a series of steps. with which we want to provide all Montenegrin citizens with living conditions according to European standards," said Spajić.
He said that the construction of the hospital is part of the Plan for the recovery of Pljevlja, as part of which work is already being done on the heating of the city, and that several more large-scale projects are planned, which, he said, will change the image of Pljevlja and make it impossible to leave the city. , already returns to it.
Šimun announced that the signing of the Contract for the construction of a new hospital in Pljevlja is the starting point for improving health care and the quality of life of the residents of this northernmost municipality.
The new hospital, one of the most important investments for Pljevlja, will have a gross area of 26.540 m², with 16 functional units and a capacity of 140 hospital beds, along with modern operating rooms, intensive care and specialized clinics. The total value of the contract amounts to over 38,6 million euros, and it is expected that the development of the main project will last six months, while the construction of the hospital will last 36 months from the introduction of the contractor to the work. We expect construction work to begin in the third quarter of 2025,'' said Šimun.
He also said that he expects this project to contribute to the creation of new jobs, strengthening the local economy and raising the quality of life for the residents of Pljevlja.
