The court for misdemeanors in Budva had a total of 16.703 cases in operation for the first nine months of this year, of which 11.741 or 70,29 percent were first-degree misdemeanor cases (PP) and 4.962 or 29,71 percent were cases of enforcement of misdemeanor sanctions (IPS).
This was announced by the President of the Court for Misdemeanors in Budva, Marko Đukanović.
"The reporting period began with 6.097 cases transferred from previous years, while the number of cases received in the first nine months of 2024 amounted to 10.606 (7.699 PP and 2.907 IPS cases). In the reporting period, a total of 10.995 cases or 65,83% ( 8154 PP and 2841 IPS cases).Despite the fact that the court acts with one less judge in Ulcinj throughout the year and one less judge in Herceg Novi since July, as well as without advisors in more than half of the departments, the promptness rate at the court level was 103,50 percent, Djukanovic said.
He pointed out that there was a significant increase in the collection of fines, procedural costs and court fees.
"Based on data from the Ministry of Finance of Montenegro, the court collected a total of 1.566.813,00 euros in the reporting period, which is even 263.933,00 euros more compared to the comparative period in 2023," Đukanović concluded.
