The Prime Minister of Montenegro, Milojko Spajić, is attending the ceremony of the Day of the Armed Forces of Montenegro, which is being held at the University Sports and Cultural Center in Podgorica, the Government announced.
The announcement adds that earlier today Spajić sent a congratulatory message on this occasion and emphasized the important role they play as part of NATO in preserving global peace.
"On this special day, we pay tribute to the brave men and women who defended our freedom in the past, as well as those who today stand guard over the peace and security of all citizens of Montenegro. The tradition of Montenegrin heroes, built on honor, courage and love for the homeland, remains a solid foundation of our army. Their legacy inspires us to defend the dignity, peace and sovereignty of our homeland at all times," Spajić said in a congratulatory message.
He added that today, as a member of the NATO alliance, Montenegro stands firmly side by side with its allies, dedicated to the common goal of preserving global peace and stability.
"Our army is an integral part of this strong alliance, contributing to collective security through professionalism, responsibility and readiness to respond to challenges affecting the entire world. It is this membership that confirms our determination to, through international cooperation and partnership, defend the values of freedom and democratic order, at the same time strengthening our national defense capacities," said the Prime Minister.
Spajić emphasized that the role of members of the Army is crucial for a secure future.
"We proudly stand by our army, which is an inseparable pillar of the statehood and security of Montenegro. Our army, taking the best from the rich historical heritage and modern achievements, symbolizes strength, dedication and courage. Through this harmony of tradition and contemporary challenges, and through active contribution global security, our soldiers testify to the commitment to peace, not only within the borders of Montenegro, but also throughout the world. We congratulate all members of the Army of Montenegro on their day. May you be guided by honor, strength and courage, as well as the generations before you, as we step towards a safer one the future," the prime minister concluded.
