The media center submitted a complaint to the RTCG Ombudsman for not publishing information that is important to citizens, which is a violation of the Rules on Professional Principles and Standards of the RTCG, said the director of this organization, Goran Đurović.
The objection refers to the statement of the US ambassador to Montenegro, Judith Reising Rajnka, and the criminal complaint filed by the eight candidates for general director of RTCG against the director of the Public Service, members of the Council and other employees, about which the editorial board of TVCG chose not to reports.
The Media Center claims that TVCG hid information that is important for citizens in Dnevnik 2, broadcast on October 10.
"Namely, on the same day, other media published the statement of the US ambassador, Ms. Judith Reising Rajnka, who announced at the opening of the annual media forum in Podgorica: 'In Montenegro, there are still challenges to strengthening the independence of the public media service, including ensuring a legal and transparent appointment process for key positions'. This statement of the US ambassador in Podgorica unequivocally refers to the assessment of the current independence of RTCG and the legality of the appointment of the general director of the public media service. as important news," Đurović's announcement states.
It is added that on the same day, other media announced that eight candidates for general director of RTCG filed a criminal complaint against Boris Raonic, President of the Council Veselin Drljević, members Naod Zorić, Filip Lazović, Vladimir Drekalović, Milica Špajak, Amina Murić, as well as against head of the legal department Željko Mićović and RTCG lawyer Zorica Đukanović, but in the editor's opinion this information was not important for the citizens, even though eight candidates for RTCG general director accused the management of corrupt behavior, abuse of official position and violation of human and labor rights by not publishing these information, TVCG violated the professional standard prescribed by the Rulebook on professional principles and standards of RTCG, which refers to credibility in reporting, Đurović assessed and said that there was undoubtedly a violation of professional standards.
"RTCG unfortunately continues with the practice of hiding from the public information that is not to the liking of the management. The practice of hiding unpleasant information established at the time when DPS, with Radojka Rutović at the head of TVCG, controlled the work of the public media service, unfortunately continues. Unfortunately, those who once as the opposition, they were very noisy because of the hiding of information on RTCG, but today they control the work of RTCG, they are silent.
Since it has become pointless to address the members of the politically controlled RTCG Council (which was recently confirmed by journalist Nikola Marković, transmitting part of the communication with today's highest government official), we have to directly address those who have political control over RTCG. That's why we ask Milojko Spajić (PES), Andrija Mandić (NSD) and Milan Knežević (DNP) to draw the attention of their members and members of the Council, as well as general director Boris Raonic, to the pointlessness of hiding information at a time when there are over 180 registered media in Montenegro. , concluded Đurović.
