The company "MM System" works exclusively with non-hazardous waste, so completely harmless material was disposed of in the Nikšić settlements of Straševina and Kličevo, said the executive director of that company, Milan Erbez.
Residents of those settlements protested during August and September because of the grit, which, they claim, was deposited on their properties, but also on land belonging to the Railway Infrastructure and the Municipality of Nikšić.
Erbez, in his response to "Vijesti", points out, among other things, that "not a single inch" of other people's property has been filled, as some "who present themselves as the owners of that land want to present to the public".
He also emphasizes that, from the first day since they took over the material/raw material from the "Bijela" shipyard, they have all the necessary analyzes and permits for its processing and disposal.
"The company 'MM System' was founded on November 12, 2012 in Nikšić. As you probably already know, one of the activities we deal with, among other things, is the processing of non-hazardous waste into useful and usable material. Today, all waste more recognized as a resource, for the reason that it really is, especially in the European Union (EU), the community of regulated states to which we strive, and where the processing and reuse of raw materials plays a key role in the sustainable development and preservation of natural resources and the environment which are defined by the Constitution as ecological, like our country of Montenegro, responsible waste management must be a priority both for individuals and institutions, as well as for us economic entities - because the processing and re-circulation of raw materials that man certainly produces through his actions/activities - it not only reduces negative impacts on the environment, but also contributes to the promotion of circular economy and balanced, sustainable development. The Constitution obligates Chapter 27, which Montenegro must fulfill in order to become a full member of the most developed countries in the world - the EU," writes Erbez.
This, as he said, was the guiding idea for which they were founded and entered the economic and business system of Montenegro.
"What, primarily, we want to clarify so that it would never be questioned again in the future: we work only and exclusively with non-hazardous waste because we do not have, nor have we ever asked - as we never plan to - from the Montenegrin institutions responsible for this permit for handling, processing or any contact with dangerous substances, materials and raw materials. commitments, as evidenced by our successful business that has been going on for almost 12 years - we also have families with whom we plan to spend our life(s) right here, on the most beautiful part of the globe," he adds.
It also indicates that all the non-hazardous waste they process by mixing it with fractions, turns it into a material suitable for filling roads, making asphalt, concrete and applying a cover layer on landfills.
"The third thing that we are obliged to point out is that from the first day since we took over the material/raw material from the 'Bijela' shipyard, for its processing and disposal, we have all the necessary analyzes and permits, issued by the relevant institutions of this country for this the sphere of activity, that is, in this case - the Ministry of Ecology, Sustainable Development and the Development of the North and the Environmental Protection Agency. They, like any other paper/permit/report, are available in black and white and we will make them available for inspection by everyone who , in the public interest and real concern for the environment and the health of citizens, they request," says the director of the "MM System" company.
He also says that all the activities they carried out in the mentioned settlements, as well as wherever they were engaged since their establishment in 2012 and the start of the company, were carried out "completely transparently, during regular working hours and in daylight" and not, "as some they claim really maliciously and completely incomprehensible to us", in secret or in the dark.
"Ultimately, the bottom line is: Why would someone who does his best to do business regularly, trying to truly comply with the laws, rules and procedures prescribed by the state, hide? What we also want to be known, not a single inch of someone else's property is on the contrary, this, after processing, completely harmless material - after the meeting we had with the president of SO Nikšić, Nemanja Vuković, from 15 . in September of this year, it is transported to the location of the Podgorica landfill 'Livade', which, by 'default', has all the necessary permits for the storage of all types of waste, including our usable material, which, among other things, serves and is used for filling the cover layer on landfills," he adds.
Erbez also says that the works are taking place in accordance with the weather conditions and with the approval of the locals who, "despite not being the owners, say that the land in question belongs to them, and who, when we started the works in these two settlements, congratulated us by welcoming us and more than cordial."
"Finally, and all in the desire for Montenegro to truly be an ecological state where its citizens enjoy all the benefits of a healthy environment, for everything we have communicated in this response - we are available to confirm with documentation and clear and unambiguous arguments that in the means of public information, as well as in front of all competent state and local institutions," it says in the response.
