The decision of the President of the Municipality of Bijelo Polje, Petar Smolović, to increase scholarships for regular students from that city represents an important step in the direction of supporting education, as well as the economic stability of students, announced Una Lješnjak, councilor of the Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS) and president of the Youth Council in the municipal board, and parties.
"Increased scholarships will greatly help students in meeting their obligations related to the costs of their studies. Also, the conditions are created for Bijelo Polje to acquire quality, educated staff who will make the perspective of our city bright with their knowledge. Such a social moment is the key to the development of society, but also local communities. In addition to the fact that the local government continues to work on improving the conditions for students with these and similar measures, it has also continued to invest in the infrastructure of educational institutions and professional training programs, which sends a clear message that young people are a priority for local politics," says Lješnjak .
She said that DPS will always support initiatives that help young people realize their potential and ensure a better future for themselves and their community.
"Such gestures of support are an opportunity to appeal to all young people to remain committed to education, because it is the basis of progress both on a personal and collective level".
