Although it was expected that this year there will be an increase in the prices of services invoiced to citizens by the municipal company "Grijanje", there will be no increase in prices because the company, unlike previous years, will end this year without losses.
This was confirmed to "Vijesta" by the director of "Grijanja". Vlade Tošić who says that the company will do everything to ensure that the quality of the services they provide is at a satisfactory level.
"Grijanje" manages the city's boiler house in Skerlićeva Street, from which apartments and business premises in the city center are heated.
Tošić said that the financial situation in the company is improving, although last year when he took over the management of "Grijanje" he inherited large debts and an increased number of employees from the previous management.
The municipal company "Grijanje" ended last year with a loss, which, as they claim in the company, was most affected by unscrupulous employment in the administration.
"The company operated with a loss in the amount of 31.019 euros. The loss-making business was most affected by negligent hiring at the end of 2022 and the beginning of 2023 in the administration, so from the above it can be seen that almost 50 percent of all employees are in the administration," states the report on the work of "Grijanja" for the past year.
The company has 33 permanent employees, 16 of whom work in administration and 17 in production. The current management accuses the previous one of doing everything to put the company in a difficult situation.
In the report on the work of "Grijanja" for last year, the management of the company stated that the current prices of the heating service should be increased.
"The current prices of the heating service, which have not changed for 12 years despite evident inflation, the increase in the price of coal and the cost of living, should be corrected in accordance with the overall changes in prices, in order to cover the overall costs of business," states the report for last year .
The current heating price for residential premises is EUR 0,6 per square meter, and EUR 1,92 per square meter for business premises without VAT.
The report also states that paying for services per square meter of heated surface does not create conditions for optimal heat consumption, which would certainly be lower, because users would take care to reduce consumption. In this way, the burning of coal would be less with all the accompanying effects.
397 apartments and 72 business premises in the city center are heated from the boiler room in Skerlić's company, with a total area of 33.654 square meters. About 1.800 tons of coal are burned annually in the boiler room.
Tošić said that due to the decision of the environmental inspector, who does not allow them to work until they take appropriate technical measures to reduce the pollution emitted from the boiler house in Skerlićeva Street, they are prevented from starting the heating season.
inspector Velibor Kljajević did not accept the request of "Grijanja" to postpone the execution of the decision, so the company turned to the Ministry of Ecology with the same request.
"Although we sent the request on September 25, we have not received any response until today. Because of all this, burning and the heating season cannot start. I am appealing to the Ministry to postpone the execution of the decision until we install the multicyclones and CETI does the measurements," said Tošić.
Tošić claims that the problem of excessive emission of polluting substances from the boiler room will soon be solved, with the installation of three new multicyclones (flue gas purifiers), and new electric motors will also be installed, which will improve combustion in the boiler.
"Multicyclones will arrive tomorrow and it will take us ten days to install them. We can start burning and install them in parallel, but it is necessary to postpone the execution of the environmental inspector's decision", said Tošić.
On August 22, the Municipality of Pljevlja and the Directorate for Capital Projects signed a contract on the implementation of the program for the implementation of pollution reduction measures, worth 375.000 euros.
"From the rest of the money, we plan to install bag filters. "For the realization of this work, it is necessary to prepare the main project, and after that we will submit a request for obtaining a building permit," said Tošić.
