Despite the political war raging between the Municipality of Budva and the Tourist Organization (TO) Budva, mutual accusations and lawsuits, court proceedings, the New Year's celebration on the square in front of the Old Town will take place this year as well.
This was confirmed for Vijesti by the director of TO Budva, Nemanja Kuljača.
Kuljaca announces a spectacular jubilee New Year's program.
"Ahead of us is the biggest and longest project that TO Budva has ever prepared because this year we are also celebrating a big jubilee - 25 years since we organized the best New Year's Eve in the Balkans," Kuljača told the media today.
"TO Budva has prepared numerous activities to meet the New Year. The most significant event is 'See you in Budva' with New Year's Eve and three-day concerts on the Square in front of the Old Town, while other winter events will start soon and last longer like 'Be in Budva' , the 'Adriatic Street Food festival' with 45 days of duration and the same number of musical programs, from December 1 to January 15, during which we will pay special attention to the celebration of the New Year holidays, with fun and varied programs both in Budva and in Petrovac and other suburban settlements," Kuljača said.
He added that "the festive decoration of the Budva riviera - the city center and suburbs is also an integral part of the preparation of the winter season in which we will participate, as well as the realization of several other New Year's events - the ceremonial lighting of the lights on the New Year's tree and 'White Santa shares happiness', as and 'Mood Music' - a traditional classical music concert on January 1".
"After that, the organization of the Orthodox New Year's Eve awaits us. We will mark Valentine's Day on February 14 with an appropriate program. The New Year's event is of the greatest importance, and the New Year's Eve has positioned Budva as a prestigious destination for staying during the New Year's holidays, but this year, after After discussions with numerous hoteliers and restaurateurs, it was decided that the holiday program would last for over 45 days the names of the regions, children's programs, big and small festivals will be an opportunity for Budva to shine with its most beautiful glow, to provide an atmosphere and to once again have fun at the level we are all used to - unforgettable," said Kuljača.
The director of TO Budva said that the focus of the great Budva spectacle is the welcome itself, which he said will be more interesting than before.
"As always, we will usher in the New Year with guests who will sing on the Painters' Square in Budva, organized by the Tourism Organization of the Municipality of Budva, a pioneer in organizing prestigious musical events in Montenegro. All visitors to Budva will have the opportunity to experience the unique atmosphere and enter into the New Year in an unforgettable way, with the biggest musical names from the Balkans, and some big surprises are being prepared because this year is also the big anniversary, 25 years since the first reception in 1999. The names of the performers were sent to the Municipality of Budva a few weeks ago the quality of the program, with their support and joint organization, has been raised to an even higher level and we expect that in the next ten days, we will introduce all the media, the public and the tourism industry with the details of the program expected in Budva," said Kuljača.
He reiterated the importance of this year's organization of New Year's programs.
"This year we are celebrating a big jubilee because we have accustomed the guests of Budva to organize the biggest Balkan winter spectacle for 25 years. When Budva started, everyone was skeptical, and today we are planning a New Year's holiday in Budva because the time is the best and the program is always unforgettable If anyone was wondering how to attract tens of thousands of tourists in the winter to a city that is primarily known for its summer tourism, I can personally say that we are expecting the largest number of visitors this year, with exceptional musical names and we are looking forward to it," Kuljača said.
He said that at the end of August, TO Budva started negotiations, preparation of the seven-week program and provided all the necessary funds for the organization of the event.
"Now is the moment to go one step further with the Municipality of Budva and by working together send the message that Budva is the best place for New Year's Eve and for all tourists coming from the country and outside our region," said Kuljača.
