Earlier today, the police in Pljevlja arrested a fellow citizen of DV on suspicion of attacking a neuropsychiatrist at the Pljevlja hospital, Ilhan Tursumović, with a knife.
The director of the General Hospital in Pljevlja, Saša Grbović, said that Tursumović suffered a stab wound in the abdomen and cuts on his hands and chest.
On that occasion, politicians were condemned.
Eraković: The attack on Tursumović is an indicator of the state society is in
Member of the Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS) Jevto Eraković condemned the attack on doctor Ilhan Tursumović.
"The attack on a colleague, Dr. Ilhan Tursumović, is an indicator of the state our society is in. Dr. Tursumović devoted his entire working life to the treatment of the citizens of Pljevlja and the surrounding area and was a successful leader of the DZ Pljevlja," said Eraković.
He said that doctors work under great pressure, "they are faced with unprecedented problems in the health system and there are no mechanisms for their protection".
"There is no need to look for those responsible for a long time. The Minister of Health and other representatives of the government are directly responsible for this situation and are part of the government that repealed the provisions of the law that treated attacks on health workers as a criminal offense," concluded Eraković.
Vucevic: Competent authorities to take all measures as soon as possible
Dragana Vučević, Member of Parliament for the Europe Now Movement (PES) and member of the Labor, Health and Social Welfare Committee, announced that she strongly condemns the attack on the neuropsychiatrist of the Pljevlja General Hospital, Ilhan Tursumović.
"I strongly condemn the physical attack on a colleague, a neuropsychiatrist at the General Hospital of Pljevlja, Ilhan Tursumović, who was injured and has several stab wounds that he received at his workplace. Instead of support and cooperation in performing above all humane work, such unpleasant events happen and it must be stopped urgently," said Vucevic.
"I call on all competent authorities to take all necessary measures as soon as possible in order to stop these and similar acts that unfortunately endanger the lives of both medical workers and patients," she concluded.
