The President of the Municipality of Pljevlja, Dario Vraneš, today visited his injured colleague Ilhan Tursumović, who is being treated in the intensive care unit of the surgical department of the General Hospital in Pljevlja.
Due to the attack on Tursumović, the police arrested a sixty-five-year-old fellow citizen of DV
Tursumović was attacked with a knife at his workplace in the Pljeval Health Center
"I condemn in the strongest terms yesterday's attack on my colleague Tursumović. Yesterday's incident is an alarm for the state to react as soon as possible and to protect all medical workers with legal regulations. We witness daily cases of attacks on all medical workers, not only doctors, in all municipalities in Montenegro. The work of medical workers is very responsible, difficult and stressful, these are people for whom there are no working hours and the entire social community must pay much more attention and sensitivity to their work and to all colleagues with the most sincere wishes for a speedy recovery. The municipality of Pljevlja appreciates the work of all health workers in our municipality and provides maximum support in the domain of its possibilities to create an environment for their better status in society," said President Vraneš after visiting Tursumović.
Tursumović, a respected neuropsychiatrist from Pljevlja, was attacked yesterday by a patient who stabbed him several times.
After two operations, he is in the intensive care unit of the OB surgical department in Pljevlja and, according to doctors, he is currently in a stable condition.
