The non-governmental organization (NGO) Biciklo.me announced that today it is organizing a new "Critical Mass" bike ride through the streets of Podgorica, starting at 17 p.m. from Independence Square.
According to this NGO, they will use this 82nd critical mass to draw the attention of the competent institutions to the importance of connecting the Masline settlement with the city center via bicycle paths, so that the residents of this part of Podgorica can safely and efficiently use bicycles as a means of transportation.
"As usual, this collective ride will also start from Independence Square, from where citizens on bicycles will head towards Masline. They will drive along Marko Miljanov Street, Ivan Crnojevića Boulevard, then through Masline along the streets of Goca Delčev, Crnojević, Đulja Jovanov and Franc Rozman, and then Beogradsko below Gorica and back to Trg. The total length of the route is about 7,5 kilometers," says the Biciklo.me announcement.
The NGO invites citizens of all generations and abilities to join the ride and enjoy the city streets without cars, at the same time advocating better conditions for the use of bicycles.
"Critical mass is a collective bicycle ride that is organized in numerous cities around the world, and the NGO Biciklo.me has been organizing it in Podgorica once a month for more than ten years. The ride gives citizens the opportunity to experience the city streets in a different way than usual, but also invites authorities to make roads suitable and safe for cycling," the announcement concludes.
