The Chief of the General Staff of the Army of Montenegro (VCG), Brigadier General Zoran Lazarevic, said that VCG members will spend the whole night tonight in the village of Sokolac in order to help the locals overcome their fear of the suspect in the murder of Milenko and Jovan Madžgalj, Alija Balijagić.
"I was today, I visited a wider area, I especially stayed in the village of Sokolac, where the Madžgalj family lives. It is obvious that the people who live in that village are in fear, last night for these reasons our soldiers were longer, long into the night in the area village. We decided that tonight they will be near the houses, in the houses of these people, in order to provide them with additional protection and thus help them to overcome the fear that is evident and for a reason present in these people", Lazarevic told Television News.
He said that the Army and the police are trying to locate Balijagić, but that it is quite a complicated task, even though it is about one person.
"Precisely because she is obviously a person with a rather disturbed mental state, unpredictable in her behavior, dangerous, because she has already shown that," said Lazarevic.
He said that the area where the search is being conducted is large and difficult to search.
"Even if we have much larger units, or a larger number of soldiers and policemen available. I reckon that very soon they will show some clue, which we will use to locate him faster and deprive him of his freedom," Lazarevic said.
He appealed to all citizens who live in the area where Balijagić is being searched for, to report any information or sign that could show that it is him to the authorities.
"The moment we manage to get anything about his position, I expect that our special units of the Army and the police will successfully free him," Lazarevic concluded.
Alija Balijagić (65) from Bijelo Polje, a suspect in a double murder, a rapist and a robber who spent more than half his life in prison, was not arrested, although, according to the authorities, all available police forces and elite military units were involved in the search for him. .
It is suspected that Balijagić killed Milenko Madžgalj (21.30) and her brother Jovan Madžgalj (69) on Friday evening, around 60:XNUMX p.m., in the Bjelopolje village of Sokolac, and then fled.
