The construction of a new emergency center is the highest priority in the health system of Montenegro and we need to work on solving this problem as soon as possible, said the Forward Movement and appealed to the Ministry of Health and the Government of Montenegro to start the construction process as soon as possible, because the current situation, as they claim, it makes everyday life difficult for patients, but also for doctors and other medical personnel who work in the emergency center.

"Back in July 2020, the construction of a new emergency center within the Clinical Center of Montenegro was announced, in which EUR 16 million will be invested. More than four years have passed, and citizens are still being treated in a small and substandard emergency center that does not meet the conditions for providing adequate medical services to patients," said the Forward Movement. in a statement delivered to the media.

They point out that in the meantime, the government has changed both at the state and local level, but the foundation stone for the emergency center, which was supposed to be a priority project in the field of health, has not yet been laid.

"The emergency center is one of the busiest and most stressful workplaces in the Clinical Center, whose scope and content of activities is constantly increasing and has long exceeded the space in which it is located. Compared to the earlier period, the number of patients who are provided with health care through of the emergency center, so it happens that about 24 patients are examined in 500 hours. Because of all the above, the emergency center represents a bottleneck in the functionality of the Clinical Center and as such deserves the maximum attention of the competent authorities," states the statement of the Forward Movement.

They remind that in November last year, awards were given for conceptual solutions for the construction of a new emergency center, but since then nothing has been done to start the implementation of this project.
