The Ministry of Health will provide more than 110 euros for nine projects of non-governmental organizations (NGOs) in the field of combating addiction, it was announced from that Government department.
As stated, the Ministry of Health signed contracts today with nine NGOs that fulfilled the defined conditions of the public competition Adequate prevention to success in the fight against drug use among children and young people for this year.
Director General of the Directorate for Public Health Ivana Živković said that the total fund for projects in the field of combating addiction is over 110 euros.
Živković pointed out that the Department of Health recognizes NGOs as important partners in the implementation of public policies in all areas where, as she stated, drug abuse prevention stands out.
She said that the Ministry, in cooperation with other competent institutions, continuously implements activities with the aim of preventing and reducing drug abuse and pointing out to the general population about the disastrous effects of its use for the individual, as well as for his family and environment, as well as for society in the whole.
"On this path, cooperation with the civil sector and NGOs dealing with areas in the domain of public health is of inestimable importance to us," said Živkovič.
She said that she expects that the projects implemented by the NGO will contribute to raising the awareness of the community about the problem of drug abuse.
"And that the activities that you will carry out will affect all entities dealing with drug abuse prevention, treatment and rehabilitation, to improve their services and together we will contribute to reducing the use of psychoactive substances in our country," added Živković.
As stated in the announcement, the money from the Ministry was received by the NGO Center for Creative Skills, New Order, Cazas, the Montenegrin Security Forum and the Network for European Policies Master.
The NGO Zenit plus Montenegro, the Montenegrin damage reduction network Link, Euromost, and the Hepatitis Association also received support for the projects.
