The Ministry of Social Welfare, Family Care and Demography clarified that the price of the daycare service for adults and elderly with disabilities, whose founders are local self-governments, has not yet been clearly specified, and that, in view of this, the users of this service cannot currently participate in the costs.
"In order to provide accurate information, the Ministry of Social Welfare, Family Care and Demography informs children and young people with developmental disabilities and adults and elderly persons with disabilities, who use the day care service financed from the municipal budget, as well as their parents, i.e. relatives who are obliged by law to support them, as follows: According to Article 158 of the Law on Social and Child Protection, funds for day care services in institutions for children and youth with disabilities and developmental difficulties are fully provided by the state and local self-government," it says in the statement.
That legal provision means that the day care service for children and young people is free of charge, without the obligation of their participation in the costs.
"For adults and elderly persons with disabilities, the Ministry issued a decision on the participation of the state in the costs of the day care service for adults and elderly persons with disabilities, which is financed from the municipal budget, in the amount of 1,81 euros per hour per user. This measure enables sustainability of day care centers for adults and elderly people with disabilities in local communities Given that the price of the day care center for adults and elderly people with disabilities, whose founders are local governments, has not yet been clearly specified, users of this service cannot participate at the moment in costs," the ministry adds.
They appealed to users and their families to contact the competent centers for social work for additional information, in order to receive adequate clarifications regarding this service.
"In the coming period, the Ministry will continue to adopt measures that improve the protection of users and enable their full inclusion in society. Our goal is to provide all users with equal access to services and adequate support, thereby contributing to their equal participation in social life and improving the quality of life. in this sense, the Ministry remains committed to continuously monitoring the needs of these categories, as well as creating policies that facilitate their integration and empowerment in the community," the announcement reads.
