The "Truth for Drita" protest organized by local women's non-governmental organizations and the SOS telephone, dedicated to the recently deceased mother Drita Tafa (35), ended with a protest walk from the Health Center in Ulcinj to the "Three Olives" roundabout.
Tafa died in the Clinical Center of Montenegro (KCCG) on Saturday, November 2, under still unexplained circumstances, almost 40 days after she gave birth in the hospital in Bar and gave birth to a healthy female child.
Her family suspects that the mother of the three girls died due to medical errors, and the Higher State Prosecutor's Office opened the case ex officio on the same day, after learning from the media.
In the meantime, the exhumation of the deceased mother was carried out and the autopsy report is awaited...
At one of the most massive protests in the history of Ulcinj, in front of the Health Center, the slogans "Ulcinj will not forgive you for this", "I will not be the next victim", "Truth for Drita", "We don't want fear, we want a safe birth", "Mister Spajić, Ulcinj is looking for the truth"...
The coordinator of the protest and in the Ulcinj SOS telephone, Hatidža Neljaj, said that the loss of Drita is a loss for the entire city.
"We want the truth and only the truth, and it is as clear as this day. And as sad as I am about everything, I am just as proud because Ulcinj united, Drita united us," said Neljaj. She stated that she had hoped that at least those who took the Hippocratic Oath would speak the truth.
"But after yesterday's announcement by the director of the hospital in Bar and the findings of some kind of commission, we see that we have a long and hard job ahead of us to get to the truth," said Neljaj.
Director of the hospital in Bar, Igor Karišik, informed the public yesterday that the Commission for Quality Control at the Bar General Hospital concluded that all medical principles and rules of the profession were respected in the treatment of Tafa and maternity Asmira Alošević, in accordance with the currently valid protocols. Alošević gave birth on September 10 also in the hospital in Bar, but due to complications, she was urgently transferred to the KBC, where she is still being treated today.

The President of Ulcinj Municipality, Genci Nimanbegu, said that the town was united by the death of Drita.
"Let this gathering be a reminder of all deviations in our society. Let our voice be heard that we want our maternity hospital and medical care at a higher level again", said Nimanbegu.
One of the organizers, Hatdiža Đoni, said that after Drita's death, she no longer trusted anyone.
"I don't trust any internal or external commissions. I don't even trust the director who himself doesn't believe in what he tells the media. We want international expertise of the entire case and the truth for Drita", said Đoni.
Members of the families of Tafa, Alošević and Ajra Hot, who also passed away a few years ago after giving birth in the Bar hospital, spoke at the gathering. The members of her collective, the Kindergarten "Solidarity", also said goodbye to Drita.
The mass protest was attended, among others, by Nimnabeg with his colleagues and the president of the Ulcinj SO, Ivana Popović.
In the end, the organizers said, among other things, that they are asking for a special session of the Ulcinj City Council dedicated to the case and that they will not stop until the public learns the truth.
