The State Secretary of the Ministry of Defense, Marko Marković, visited Đurković in Piperi, on the occasion of the completion of road works in that settlement, which were carried out by the engineers of the Army of Montenegro (VCG), the Ministry of Defense announced.

As announced, members of the Engineering Company of the VCG Support Battalion built a kilometer of road and built an embankment in the part that was potentially threatened by the Straganica River, in order to connect Đurkovići with the local water station.

"This road is not long, but its significance for the residents of this area is enormous. Access to a key resource - water, which is essential for the life and development of every community - is now easier. We are proud of our members of the Engineering Company, who, with their hard work and dedication, within the scope of their daily tasks, enabled the locals to have safer and simpler access to the water pump," said Marković.

Marković said that the Ministry of Defense and the Army are there for the citizens of Montenegro, not only to ensure their safety, but also to provide support for efforts to improve and raise the quality of life.

He said that the Ministry of Defense will continue to invest in the development and equipment of the Engineer Company, so that it can respond to all the demands and needs of our citizens.

"Secretary Marković, together with the Chief of Staff of the General Staff of the Croatian Army, Colonel Mitra Klikovec, spoke with the locals, who expressed their gratitude for the work done," the announcement concludes.
