PES: DPS supported the increase in water prices for years, referring to the profession

The parliamentary club Pokreta Evropa Sad (PES) said that the Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS) and its partners, led by Ivan Vuković in the role of mayor, have supported the increase in water prices in Podgorica for years, "if the profession says so and it turns out that it is the need that is related to the normal functioning of the system".

"Vijesti" announced yesterday that DPS councilors will not attend today's session of the Capital City Assembly, because they consider the 41 percent increase in the price of water for the citizens of Podgorica unjustified. The URA also announced that it would not support that proposal.

PES announced today that the proposal for a decision on determining the price list, according to the methodology prescribed by the previous government, through the by-laws regulating the work of the Agency for Energy and Regulated Utilities (REGAGEN), had to reach the councilors as the competent authority.

They point out that the Law on Communal Activities, which provides clear procedures for determining the price of water, was written by "those who today call for its violation".

However, we are not surprised by your actions, because experience tells us every day that each of your practices is created for the benefit of the individual, which is why we initiated numerous changes to the law, and all with the intention of improving the conditions in which economic activity takes place, but not at the expense of jeopardizing citizens' standards. That is why the thesis that Mayor Injac initiated any increase in prices does not stand because, acting according to the law, she referred the decision to the parliamentary procedure to be decided by the councilors. of the Assembly", adds PES.

"The reaction of the GP URA, whose candidate for the position of mayor promised the citizens that he will not let 'Vodovod' go bankrupt, is also surprising, since they perceive one of the most important decisions regarding this company as a 'party game'.
