The President of the Chamber of Commerce (PKCG), Nina Drakić, and the Dean of the Kotor Maritime Faculty of the University of Montenegro (UCG), Tatijana Dlabač, signed an agreement on cooperation between the two institutions today.
PKCG announced that cooperation with the Maritime Faculty will be implemented, among other things, in the areas of organizing meetings and lectures, providing support to students and participants of other types of teaching, participating in the implementation of various types of projects from joint fields of activity, and cooperation with related international entities.
Drakić reminded that PKCG and the Maritime Faculty already cooperate intensively, and that by signing this document, space is opened for additional improvement.
"Education and the economy must work "hand in hand" in order to cope with common challenges, among which the provision of the missing personnel on the labor market is particularly noteworthy. "Cooperation can contribute to better use of European support programs, which will be available to us upon joining the European Union (EU)," said Drakić.
Dlabac believes that connecting educational institutions and the economy contributes to better preparation of quality projects.
"We have to have joint projects and work institutionally through the connection with the economy in order to get funds. In this way, we can more easily create sustainable projects of greater value," said Dlabač.
She expressed her satisfaction with the fact that the agreement provides for support for the summer school implemented by the Maritime Faculty, but she also suggests re-establishing scholarships for students from the economy.
The signing of the agreement was attended by the director of the PKCG Projects Sector, Tanja Radusinović, and the secretary of the Transport Association Board, Aleksandar Mitrović.
The Chamber, as its representatives reminded, has a very high-quality cooperation with the Maritime Faculty in the field of writing and implementing projects financed from EU funds.
