The Ministry of Ecology, Sustainable Development and Development of the North (MERS) will support the Municipality of Kolašin in the implementation of projects that are significant for that city, among which are the rehabilitation of the temporary landfill and the construction of the recycling yard in the sewage treatment plant and sewage network.
This was said by the relevant minister, Damjan Ćulafić, during his visit to Kolašin.
Ćulafić, as announced by MERS, met with the Vice President of the Municipality, Vasilij Ivanović, and the President of the Municipal Assembly, Vasilij Bulatović.
Čulafić said that Kolašin can count on the support of the relevant Ministry, as well as other municipalities in the north.
"Our goal is to ensure development that preserves nature and benefits future generations. Kolašin has enormous potential, and together we can create a sustainable future for everyone," Ćulafić pointed out.
At the meeting, it was assessed that the environment must be protected through projects that will contribute to its preservation.
"The need for timely and complete preparation of technical documentation, which is necessary for the implementation of projects, was pointed out," the announcement says.
From the Municipality of Kolašin, they said that the spatial plan for special purposes for Bjelasica and Komov provides wastewater treatment plants for ski resorts 1.450 and 1.600.
"Investors donated the conceptual solutions for the facilities to the Municipality, while the Municipality submitted the aforementioned conceptual solutions to the Ministry of Finance in order to apply them for the State Capital Budget for 2025," stated MERS.
As they said, at the meeting it was agreed that the Municipality should forward the mentioned conceptual solutions to the Ministry of Ecology, Sustainable Development and Development of the North.
The Municipality stated that they have excellent cooperation with Procon and Eco Fund.
"Also, we hope that in the coming period, together with the Ministry, we will be able to implement environmental projects that are extremely important for our city, namely the rehabilitation of the temporary landfill in Bakovići and the construction of a recycling yard," the Municipality emphasized.
It is stated that the project for the construction of a recycling yard and a system for the selective separation of waste in Kolašin has been nominated by the Ministry of Capital Budget for the next year, in the amount of 500 thousand euros.
It is added that, as far as current projects in the field of communal activities are concerned, the project of Construction of wastewater treatment plant and sewage network in the municipality of Kolašin and improvement of water supply in the estimated amount of 12 million euros has been singled out.
"The project includes the construction of a WWTP with a capacity of six thousand population equivalents (ES) and the construction of a sewage network with a total length of 23 kilometers," the announcement says.
MERS said that in the first phase of implementation, it is planned to build a WWTP with a capacity of four thousand ES and 9,2 kilometers of network and about three kilometers of water supply network.
They stated that during the visit they also discussed the process of protecting the area of the canyon of the river Mrtvice, as a future protected area in the category of Nature Park, whose protection procedure was launched in 2021.
Ivanovic said that the area needs to be protected.
The Environmental Protection Agency stated that a study of protection and specific protection zones was done based on habitats and species that require protection.
They added that the area of the canyon of the river Mrtvice will certainly enter the Natura 2000 network.
Ćulafić emphasized that it is important to preserve natural resources and promote sustainable solutions in order to protect the environment and reminded that 24 out of a total of 41 newly planned capital projects will be implemented in the north.
