Prime Minister Milojko Spajić congratulated the citizens of Montenegro on Njegos Day - a holiday of culture and art, his Cabinet announced.
This day, says Spajić, reminds us of the highest, imperishable reaches of Montenegrin literacy, spirituality and philosophy, reminding us of the grandiose, versatile historical figures of Crma Gora and the national tradition.
"In Njegoš, a reflection of our deep past, too rich ancestral experiences, ideals and destinies, as well as world achievements, are woven, so that through his work they receive the most refined artistic expression as a universal value that shines on the coming generations," the congratulatory letter reads.
"Determined by the family, tribal and national framework, life, talents and self-work, with his spirit and creativity he will turn a small nest into a metaphysically large tribe in which the 'cradle' of Genius will rock," it added.
"National cultures appear before the world with greats, representative patterns, which are a synthesis of the overall experiences of the creative personality, nation and universe. Montenegro stands before Europe with two real, as well as imaginary and mythically unattainable landmarks - Njegoš and Lovcen. And it's not that we can't feel inferior, but we can only be overestimated - descendants from whom too much is expected," the congratulation reads.
Spajić said that Njegoš obliges and inspires excellence, excellence, overcoming and improvement.
"'Let there be what cannot be' are the words that flow through all our historical victories and feats. Even today we hear them on the way to be better, more humane, fairer and nobler. To be a model society for the most developed countries of Europe - to overshadow ourselves" , concludes Spajić.
