The jubilee public reception of the New Year, which has traditionally been organized for a quarter of a century in front of the walls of the Old Town, will take place this year.
This was confirmed to "Vijesti" by the vice-president of the Municipality of Budva, Jasna Dokić, which put an end to long-standing speculations that due to the open war raging between some of the municipal officials from the ranks of "Budva our city" and the Budva Tourism Organization, headed by Nemanja Kuljača, the staff of "For the future of Budva", could lead to the cancellation of the event.
"There will certainly be New Year's celebrations. Of course, the Tourist Organization and the Municipality of Budva are there. The municipality will continue the tradition it started 25 years ago. The city must not miss the chance to be the epicenter of entertainment during the New Year's holidays in the region this year," said Dokić.
The meeting in Dokić's cabinet in the middle of last week regarding the organization of the reception went ingloriously, because it was interrupted after the representatives of TO Budva left it, because, as they said, several uninvited persons entered the cabinet.
The conflicting information that was communicated by the conflicting parties after the meeting disturbed the Budva public that due to the political war, there could be a cancellation or organization of a parallel reception. City manager Marijana Božović immediately after the meeting, which she judged to have failed, accused TO Budva and the director of secretly managing the process of organizing the reception, bypassing the Municipality, accusing them of astronomical fees that they are ready to give to certain stars. She then invited the citizens to suggest who they would like to see perform in Budva on New Year's Eve by November 15.
On the other hand, Kuljača invited Dokić, thanking her for her understanding and constructive approach, noting that the meeting was painful, and that they suffered insults from people who were not invited, to reach an agreement on the participation of the Municipality in the organization as soon as possible, because there is no time to wait, since it is already late to conclude contracts with music stars.

At the same time, he accused the other party of misleading the public, but also of calling the singer's managers on their own initiative, impersonating themselves. Kuljača stated that TO Budva has 850 euros in its account, and that they can organize the event themselves, rejecting claims that the organization's coffers are empty.
Kuljača told "Vijesta" yesterday that the program will be designed in the coming days, and that the public will be informed and confirmed that Budva will have the most attractive music event in the region this year as well.
"Budva's economy, citizens and all those who plan to spend the New Year's holidays on the Budva Riviera can be convinced that the Tourism Organization of the Municipality of Budva will independently organize an impressive three-day New Year's Eve program on the city's main square, as the only legal entity that can organize such an event in in accordance with the law, the Statute and the work plan and program for the current year. Budva deserves nothing less than that, especially considering the big jubilee, 25 years of organizing the public New Year's celebration, and it is reckless to further politicize such an important event for our city. In almost impossible working conditions, along with the daily obstruction of the organization of the public reception, the spreading of untruths and various slanders, TO Budva continues to work intensively and will meet the expectations of the audience and organize another memorable New Year's party, the detailed program of which will be published soon. , Kuljaca said.

"Vijesti" previously announced that TO Budva submitted to the Municipality a month ago the offer of agencies and managers with the amounts of star fees, demanding the local self-government to formulate a final program.
As it was proposed at the time, one of the options was that on the craziest night, "Bijelo Dugme" (complete band whose fee would be 120 thousand euros), "Blue Orchestra" (80.000 euros), Jelena Karleuša (60 thousand euros) would perform.
The program would start on December 30, and it was proposed that the band "Lexinton" perform that evening on the central stage under the old city ramparts, while the performance of Dino Merlin (1 thousand euros), Džejla Ramović and Sergej Ćetković is planned for January 120.
Kuljača submitted a list of ten more performers who can be engaged for performances during the three-day program on the central stage, which is traditionally placed in front of the Old Town.
