Podgorica market from December 16 to January 15

This year's Podgorica market will be opened by the Sevdah Baby group, and the Galija group, Kuba band, Kira band, L'ombelico band, VIS Tetra, Dejan Petrović Big band and many others will also perform at the event.

This was announced at the press conference by the secretary of the Secretariat for Culture, Snežana Tomanović.

The Podgorica market will start on December 16 and will last until January 15, 2025 on Independence Square.

New Year's Day will be enriched with various programs, first children's programs, and later the Kuba band, Kira band, 4season, L'ombelico band will introduce the people of Podgorica to the New Year...

On January 1, citizens will listen to the group Hari Mata Hari, it was announced at the press conference.

"This is the fifth edition of the Podgorica Bazaar, and as a traditional manifestation, it obliges us to improve it," said the director of the Podgorica Tourism Organization, Dragan Grnović.

He said that the office of the city architect acquired part of the lighting for the city square, which will be much more beautifully decorated than in previous years.

Grnović said that the public call for renting cottages has ended and that the final results should be known by the end of November. He said that 108 applications were received, and that there will be 40 houses on the square with various offers.

He pointed out that the event "Podgorica Cellars" is planned for November 30, with the aim of introducing citizens to Podgorica wineries.

It was announced earlier that this event will be organized only on Independence Square, instead of three locations, which was the case last year.

"The reason why we chose one square is to make the best possible program, because spreading the funds on several squares turned out to be a wrong step," Grnović explained.

He said that about 150.000 euros have been set aside for this event.

"Half of the money will be spent on technical support, and half of the funds will be earmarked for the program," Grnović said.

"From January 10 to March 31, in cooperation with the natural history museum from Montenegro and Svilajnec, we will host the 'Dino Park', which will be located on the green areas on the plateau in front of the University of Montenegro," he said.
