At the Faculty of Philosophy in Nikšić, a tribute was organized to Prof. Dr. Branko Radojičić, emeritus of the University of Montenegro and academician of the Dukljan Academy of Sciences and Arts, who died in June 2022.

The dean of the Faculty of Philosophy, Tatjana Novović, said that Radojičić made a huge contribution to the scientific and cultural heritage of Montenegro.

She explained that the commemoration at that institution was not held after Radojičić's death, because at that time there were "intense infrastructure works" at that institution, so they did not have "a decent environment for organizing a commemoration". That's why they decided to organize a tribute now and "once again shed light on the rich work of Dr. Branko Radojičić, an extremely distinguished member of the academic and wider community."

Mihailo Burić recalled Radojicic's very impressive scientific biography, the important social functions he held, and the numerous awards he received.

"It's just incredible what can fit into just one life. Today we send a message not only of gratitude to Branko, but also a request to the next generations to learn and build on the foundations laid by Branko Radojičić. I wish my dear faculty as much Branko Radojičić as possible, and as little as possible of current misunderstandings and discord. Branko was a teacher to me, Goran, Slobo, Miroslav, and Gojko. We have learned the science. We just need to learn mutual cooperation and respect from him," said Burić.

Goran Barović pointed out that Radojičić published 1982 books from 2015 to 11, as well as that he was a co-author of the geomorphological map of Montenegro, which was part of the geomorphological map of Yugoslavia, which was made after many years of processing the geomorphology of the terrain of Montenegro. Since 1953, he has published dozens of scientific works, he is the author of over 350 encyclopedic and other professional articles, numerous studies for the preparation of development plans, spatial and general plans, works in the field of education and upbringing, dozens of articles in school magazines and newspapers of Yugoslavia and Montenegro.

Barović read the passages he wrote for Radojičić's two last books - "Nikšić Municipality - Nature and Social Development", which was published in 2010, and "Montenegro - Geographical Encyclopedic Lexicon", which was published in 2015.

"The book 'Municipality of Nikšić - nature and social development', by the author whose numerous books and scientific works so far have been declared capital works of Montenegrin science by scientific critics, represents permanent scientific value for every library and for every individual. This is another work of an author who, with his overall work, owed his Nikšić and Montenegro a debt, and pointed out to our younger colleagues the direction of further scientific research into nature and the development of Montenegrin society," said Barović.

In the "Geographical Encyclopedic Lexicon", said Barović, more than a thousand units are processed, and within the larger units there are hundreds of other units, and "everything is processed according to the most modern scientific principles, including their natural features, social development and significance". The book, which has 930 pages, is the result of sixty years of research into the natural elements and social factors of Montenegro. The mentioned book is the debut of that genre in the geographical science of Montenegro and represents Radojicic's life's work.

"The book will have lasting value and will significantly contribute to the spread of knowledge about Montenegro. It will especially benefit geographers, economists, spatial planners, tourism workers, nature lovers, publicists, or in short, anyone who wants to know the greatest values of Montenegro," said Barović.
