The authorities, according to publicly available data, do not establish the veracity of the allegations of the first man of Radio and Television of Montenegro, Boris Raonic - that some of the prosecutors, who worked on cases related to RTCG, were in cahoots with organized crime.
He, appearing two nights ago on TVCG, talking about the Basic State Prosecutor's Office, which filed an indictment against the president and four members of the RTCG Council for the illegal appointment of the general director, said that "many people, even acting prosecutors in these cases, did some illegal things”.
"The prosecutors who worked on this case had close contacts with organized criminal groups in a country that will enter the EU tomorrow," Raonic said two nights ago.
The Special State Prosecutor's Office (SDT) did not respond to Vijesti's questions about what they did regarding the statements of that public official.
Their colleagues from the Basic State Prosecutor's Office (SDT) in Podgorica previously invited Raonic to share his knowledge about possible illegal or criminal activities with the institution headed by Vladimir Novović.
"The Basic State Prosecutor's Office in Podgorica denies and denies the baseless allegations of the General Director of RTCG, presented in the show 'Accenti' regarding the indictment against the President and members of the Council of RTCG for the criminal offense of abuse of official position in the case of the election of the General Director of RTCG on June 1, 2023. year. The claims that the decision to submit the indictment was made under anyone's influence are unfounded and untrue," said the ODT.
The ODT said that state prosecutors, in accordance with the law, are independent in their work and perform their functions impartially and objectively, based on the principles of legality and equality before the law.
"In order for the manager to be involved in making any decision of the state prosecutor, it is necessary to issue instructions to the state prosecutor for handling the case, which in this particular case was neither initiated by the acting state prosecutor, nor was such an instruction given at all", it is stated in a statement signed by the manager of ODT Podgorica, Duško Milanović.
They pointed out that the insinuations and baseless accusations come from the head of the largest national media house, "from whom an increased degree of responsibility is expected for the statements made".
"Regarding the claims about the alleged connections and contacts of state prosecutors with criminal structures and pressure during the submission of the indictment, we encourage the director of RTVG to submit a criminal complaint to the Special State Prosecutor's Office against any state prosecutor whom he considers and has evidence of being under anyone's influence acted in this criminal legal matter", the ODT said yesterday.
After the ODT announcement, Raonic accused "Vijesti" of "arguing" him with the prosecutors.
"I read with disbelief the reaction of the ODT, which was based on disinformation published by ND Vijesti, and published on their portal last night after my interview on RTCG. Although ND Vijesti, as well as every citizen who has access to YouTube, has the ability to view the recording of my interview, which clearly shows that the statements made are not true, I am witnessing a tendentious and deliberate manipulation of this information. And not the first time! However, I ask the question: is it possible for a serious institution, such as ODT, to base its views on the propaganda of a media outlet, against all logic and rules of professional behavior?" Raonic asked.
Two nights ago, the editors transferred the text and statements of Raonic from the RTCG portal.
The editorial office of RTCG later explained late last night that the general director's address to prosecutors and "Vijesti" refers to the title "Raonić: Prosecutors who filed charges against Drljević and members of the Council had contacts with criminal groups".
"Unfortunately, the Basic State Prosecutor's Office caught on to this title... Not a single word mentions the prosecutor who filed the indictment," reads the reaction of the RTCG Editorial Board.
Last week, the Podgorica Prosecutor's Office filed an indictment against the President of the Radio and Television Council of Montenegro (RTCG), Veselin Drljević, and the members of that body, Filip Lazović, Amina Murić, Naod Zorić and Predrag Miranović, for the criminal offense of abuse of official position in co-perpetration, and in connection with the election of Raonic to the post of General Director of the Public Service in June of last year.
