The proposed budget of the University of Montenegro (UCG) for 2025 is significantly higher than the amount approved for 2024, which indicates that the Government of Montenegro understands the development needs of the state higher education institution, President of the Management Board of UCG Milivoje Radović told "Vijesta".
39,2 million euros are planned for the University of Montenegro for the next year, which is 3,4 million more than the budget that the institution had this year.
For 2025, the Board of Directors asked the Government to provide them with a budget of almost 2025 million euros for 42,6.
The fact that the budget for 2025 is larger than the one the institution had during this year, says Professor Radović, also indicates that "there is good cooperation between the University and the Government".
"...In the sense of joint work on the improvement of higher education, innovation in science and better ranking of the state university, which is not feasible without a continuous increase in investment", emphasized Radović.
He emphasizes that it is true that the University has proposed a budget to the Government that meets the needs of this higher education institution as much as possible.
"As before, the University will try to replace the missing funds from its own income, as well as by rationalizing costs, where possible. We emphasize that last year's capital budget supported important infrastructural projects whose implementation had been waiting for decades, so this encourages us that in the coming period, in the synergy of the two parties, we will continue with infrastructural improvement and even greater material support from the Government to the University of Montenegro", concluded Radović.
During this year, the amount of 33,6 million euros is planned for salaries of permanent employees, compensation of external associates and clinicians. It was announced at the beginning of the year that about 24 million euros had to be set aside for the electricity and fuel consumed by the University's 1,2 organizational units.
