The President of the Municipality of Danilovgrad, Aleksandra Grgurović, announced that the problem of kyu fever has been successfully resolved in the territory of that municipality.
"After the great challenges and problems brought by kyu fever, finally the farmers and the entire population in our municipality can breathe a sigh of relief. Namely, there are no more infected cows on the farms in our municipality. The euthanized cows infected with the Coxiella Burneti bacteria were successfully eliminated with the last two farms where Q fever was diagnosed," Grgurović said.
He added that infected necks were burned in a safe and efficient manner, and that potential problems arising from the choice of locations and the burial of infected necks were avoided.
"The Municipality of Danilovgrad will additionally, in addition to the help of the line ministry, help livestock farmers who have suffered losses and mitigate the resulting damage," Grgurović said.
