The Association Parents announced today that during December, the month of giving, it is launching the initiative "Both packages and knowledge", aimed at providing continuous support in learning, as a priority, to children living in socially disadvantaged families in several Montenegrin municipalities.

"In this way, the Association wants to expand this type of support, which until now has been provided mainly in Podgorica, as part of the Ucionica druzionica program. During December, the Association Parents, in partnership with Crnogorski Telekom, will provide and distribute 2.000 New Year's packages for children living in extreme poverty, from all Montenegrin municipalities," the announcement states.

The Parents' Association added that the distribution of packages will be organized in cooperation with centers for social work, whose teams will ensure that help reaches the families who need it most.

"Holiday joy is only part of the broader mission for which the Parents association has been advocating for years. Therefore, with this initiative, we want to send a clear message that support for vulnerable children must last throughout the year, not just during the holidays. Especially support for their education, so that everyone had equal opportunities. That's why this year we are launching the initiative 'Both packets and knowledge.' party room," reads the announcement of the Parents' Association.

They state that a large number of children, especially those from the poorest families, have limited access to education, which, they added, makes it difficult to get out of the circle of poverty.

"Children who do not follow the school material, do not go to school regularly, do not have support at home... they cannot follow lessons with their peers," concludes the announcement of the Parents' Association.

"For years, we have been trying to change this through the activities of the Fellowship Classroom, but also through the projects we implemented on this topic, not only in Podgorica, but also in other municipalities. Now we want to expand this initiative and establish it continuously, and that it also implies direct cooperation with schools", said Katarina Čarapić, a social worker in the association Parents.

The results of the Community Classroom program in Podgorica showed that support in learning gives significant results and that this is an important type of support for the most vulnerable, as well as for educators.

The program of support for children from socially disadvantaged families has been implemented by the Association for many years within the framework of various services in the Toy Library and the development center, first thanks to donors - individuals and companies.

"In order to ensure the continuity of this initiative, but also to expand it to at least four municipalities, in the central, southern and northern regions, we will continue to animate donors to support these activities. That's why we invite everyone who wants to join our mission and donate to support the education of children living in socially disadvantaged families, to contact us", added Čarapić.
