The Ministry of Ecology, Sustainable Development and Northern Development said that, from the very beginning, they actively monitored all stages of the grit removal process on the territory of the local communities of Kličevo and Straševina, and that they implemented all the necessary procedures in accordance with the current legislation, ensuring that all activities are implemented within the competences and obligations of that department.
"On November 27, 2024, in order to control the implementation of the environmental inspection decision UPIN 0303-736/24-31741/8 dated August 20.08.2024, 4282, a tour of the location of cadastral plots 1408 KO Kličevo and 130 KO Straševina, Nikšić was carried out. it was visible on the spot that the bulk material, which was the object, was removed with the use of machinery solutions. In a length of about XNUMX meters, material was removed from the slope that separates the two cadastral parcels, and in some places a trace of material resembling grit, i.e. waste from sandblasting, was noticed in some places.
Based on the visual inspection, as they said, it was determined that only small amounts of that material remained, which can be removed in a short period of time, without the need for major interventions.
They said that, if it is confirmed that the decision has not been fully followed, in the further procedure "it will proceed with the execution of the decision, which may include the imposition of a fine or execution through other persons, in accordance with the Law on Inspection Supervision".
"In addition, from the Directorate for Railway Traffic, the Directorate for Inspection Supervision of Railway Traffic, Infrastructure and Cableways, it was confirmed that on November 6, 2024, a visit was made to location 4282, which was the subject of the usurpation of a wider infrastructure belt. On that occasion, an orderly state was found , and the previously unloaded earth material was successfully removed, while the infrastructure belt along the Nikšić - Podgorica railway line was fully planned in accordance with the orders of the Ministry of traffic," it added.
The ministry said that they will continue to monitor the implementation of the regulations, overseeing the legality protection process.
"We will focus exclusively on our competences without going into the incompetence of institutions and administrations that do not have the necessary knowledge and abilities to responsibly apply the Law, and which are hiding behind populist steps," the announcement reads.
