Migrants broke into a house in the Pljevlja village of Milunići

Last weekend, two migrants, Turkish citizens, broke into the house of Vukan Damjanović in the Pljeval village of Milunići, not far from the border with Serbia.

"On Saturday around 19:XNUMX in the village of Milunići, me and my wife heard banging on the door and shouting in an unknown language. We did not open the door but took shelter in the attic of the house and called the police. The banging on the door stopped, but the police came to the scene only after an hour and a half, even though the house is only ten kilometers away. After talking with us and going around the immediate area, the police came back without finding any traces or people. Immediately after that, my wife and I went to our house a new house a few tens of meters away from the old one, and there, to our astonishment and horror, we found two foreign citizens who entered the house by breaking the window. The migrants had already made themselves uncomfortable in the house and tore their clothes," said Damjanović.

They called the police again, who came to the scene not long after and found two younger men.

"Our neighbor came with the police and brought the policemen whose vehicle, due to the thirty centimeters of snow, could not overcome the hill on the approach to the house. On that occasion, the police took care of the burglars, even giving them parts of their clothes, since theirs were soaked due to heavy rainfall, and then took them to Pljevlja. According to our knowledge, the burglars were interrogated at the police station in Pljevlje and identified, which showed that they were two Turkish citizens residing in Ankara. They were then released after the on-duty prosecutor declared that there were no elements of a criminal offense in their actions, and therefore no reason for their detention or possible custody," Damjanović claims.

This incident, he pointed out, once again showed to what extent the safety of the citizens of the municipality of Pljevlja, especially those who live in semi-deserted border villages, is threatened.

"The fear for one's own life and the insecurity that has moved in among the local population is further increased by the inadequate actions of the competent state authorities, which must take all the measures provided by law to protect the basic freedoms and rights of the people from this area as soon as possible, so that they themselves are not forced to self-organize in order to protect their lives and property," said Damjanović, who also provided the News with a picture of the two Turkish citizens he found in the house.
