From the Green Kolašin Initiative, they offered the local government and the Ministry of Spatial Planning, Urbanism and State Property their analyses, which were published over the past two years, and with the help of which, as they explain, it is easy to conclude what is happening with the spatial development of that city.
As they announced, they were pleasantly surprised by the news that the President of the Municipal Assembly (SO) Vasilije Bulatović "addressed the competent inspection in connection with the works on the construction of the building in Mirko Vešović Street, owned by the investor Bjelasica invest".
"As we read in the newspaper, the president of the SO demanded a verification of the documentation and a ban on construction until that verification is completed. In addition, he noted that 'the construction of the staircase, which is in progress, significantly disrupts the traffic infrastructure in the city center, and the dimensions of the building itself are not in accordance with the facilities in the environment and with the environment that the citizens of Kolašin want'"We hope that the competent inspections will meet these requirements. We use this opportunity to let the president of SO and everyone else, whose job description is to think and work about the environment and ambience and the citizens and wishes of Kolašin, we simply help", say the Green Kolašin Initiative.
They remind us of the publication "Let's imagine a green Kolašin: an engaged response to the construction boom" which, they claim, shows "only part of the irregularities related to the project in Mirka Vešovića Street", which, based on the documentation available at the time, they noticed and published at the end of last year.
"So, they just did it exactly a year ago. If the authorities and the inspectors had read and reacted then, as we asked them to do, maybe some parts of the city would be less disfigured than they are now... But here, we can only write, we talk, expose, perform, promote, warn... We do not have the authority to stop construction works or jobs in the public administration, which would give us the time and resources to deal with this on a daily basis. Fortunately, someone somewhere is paid to do that is working and we are delighted that, here, some work has started".
