Support to the "Dr. Simo Milošević" Institute in the restructuring process is crucial for the future of the health system of Montenegro, the Ministry of Health announced.
They expressed satisfaction that, as they say, after a long period of time, the Institute will have the opportunity to regain its former reputation and recognition.
"As an institution of inestimable value for our health system, the Igalo Institute deserves comprehensive support and investments in order to improve its capacities and services, for the benefit of all citizens of Montenegro," the announcement reads.
They said that the Institute's Restructuring Plan, prepared by the University of Montenegro, clearly indicates its key role in the health care system.
"The Igalo Institute, as a leading institution for medical rehabilitation, provides specialized services that are essential for the recovery of patients and the improvement of their quality of life. Medical rehabilitation, as an important segment of healthcare, not only contributes to the functional recovery of patients, but also reduces healthcare costs in the long term system through the prevention of disability and reduction of the need for prolonged hospital treatment".
The restructuring plan, as they said, includes not only investments in infrastructure and equipment, but also investments in the health of citizens, education of medical staff and optimization of health care costs. "This is an opportunity to ensure the long-term stability and sustainability of this institution, which represents a national asset".
The Ministry of Health says that they believe that all shareholders will recognize the importance of the Institute for the state and citizens and support the Restructuring Plan, "as the only model that can currently protect the Institute from bankruptcy and enable its smooth operation and further development".
"The Ministry of Health and the Government of Montenegro, led by Prime Minister Milojko Spajić, made significant efforts so that the Igalo Institute could function smoothly until the adoption of the Restructuring Plan. To this end, the prices of the services of the Health Insurance Fund were corrected, which prevented the further accumulation of losses of the Institute "The Ministry of Health remains committed to supporting the Igalo Institute and appeals to all actors to ensure the future of this institution, which is a pillar of health rehabilitation in Montenegro, through joint efforts," the announcement reads.
