The Government of Montenegro has issued urban planning and technical conditions for the preparation of technical documentation for the construction of an indoor swimming pool and a sports hall in Pljevlja.

The construction of the swimming pool in Pljevlja is part of the Pljevlja Recovery Plan that was recently presented, and which should be implemented jointly by the Government of Montenegro, the Municipality of Pljevlja and the Coal Mine.

"We have started the procedures we need for the implementation of projects, including the construction of a swimming pool in Pljevlja. We expect that in the coming year, if there are no unplanned problems, the implementation of the project will be able to begin. We have support from the Government and the Prime Minister for the implementation of this and other projects that are part of the Pljevlja Recovery Plan", the manager of the municipality told "Vijesta" recently. Ljiljana Đondović.

At the presentation of the Pljevlja Recovery Plan, it was announced that the construction of a swimming pool and multifunctional hall is planned next to the Ada Sports Hall, across the street from the Milet Garden.

The swimming pool that would be built would be of the closed type, semi-Olympic, measuring 25 by 12 meters. Next to this pool, another smaller pool measuring 12 by 12 meters would be built for non-swimmers.

Pljevlja is one of the few cities in Montenegro that does not have a swimming pool or a swimming pool.

The story of the construction of a swimming pool in Pljevlja is more than twenty years old, but no government was ready to invest in the realization of that project.

The detailed urban plan envisages the construction of a swimming pool on the site near the "Ada" Sports Center, and this project was included in the five-year Strategic Development Plan.

It is estimated that the construction of the swimming pool will cost around 9,7 million euros and is one of the projects that the local administration applied for funding from the State Capital Budget for the following year.

President of the Municipality Dario Vranes he recently said that it would be most realistic to build a swimming pool in Pljevlja in parallel with the implementation of the Pljevlja heating project.

"It would be the most realistic solution if the swimming pool was operated together with heating. I visited several cities in the region with my colleagues, i.e. the municipalities that have swimming pools in Banja Luka, Vrbas, Novi Sad, Niš, Užice and Trebinje have good swimming pools. It is most realistic to do the swimming pool as part of the heating. It is quite something that is realistic and possible. What I am emphasizing is that we should not waste time, finish the heating and then wait another three years for the pool. We have to do some things at the same time," said Vraneš.

His predecessors also announced the construction of a swimming pool in Pljevlja, but no one did anything to realize that project.
