The winners of the eighth contest of young reciters of Montenegro are Mihailo Lisičić from Elementary School "Milan Vuković" from Herceg Novi, in the category from first to fifth grade, Mona Mujović from Elementary School "Sutjeska" from Podgorica, from sixth to ninth, while in the category for secondary schools winner Nikolina Barać, a student of the Secondary Vocational School from Bijelo Polje.
More than 200 students from primary and secondary schools competed, and the president of Nikšić Municipality, Marko Kovačević, presented the awards.
The organizers of the competition are "Obodsko slovo" and JU "Zahumlje".
"We show year after year that Nikšić is considerate and takes care of poetry and young people. This year "Zahumlje" marked the 200th anniversary of the birth of Branko Radičević, last year in honor of the 130th anniversary of the birth of Miloš Crnjanski, we named a street after him in Nikšić, so it's all part of the same mission. What makes me especially happy is that I also heard the lyrics of my friend Ranko Jovović on this stage, so I think that his soul is happy today. Saying poetry is very nearly identical to saying a prayer. When we say a prayer, we call for help and hope, and with this poetic prayer of our children from all over Montenegro, in these three days, in Nikšić, they really gave us hope that a better and brighter future awaits us", said Kovačević. .
The president of the jury, poet Milica Bakrač, pointed out that everyone should be proud of the beautiful words and love brought by the participants of the Festival, especially praising their choice of poetry, diction, emotions, demeanor on stage and love for what they do.
At the Festival, awards were given for second and third place, as well as special prizes. In addition to Bakrač, the jury consisted of Natalija Đaletić, Nevenka Burić and Miroslava Uljarević.
