The reconstruction of the road through Martinić must be an absolute priority, when it comes to key infrastructure projects that directly affect the quality of life of citizens, said member of Preokret za Danilovgrad Zdravko Đuranović, on the occasion of December 9 - Municipality Day.
"Incompetence and party problems cannot and must not be an excuse. Less than half of the road has been reconstructed, the part from Stologlav to Burum has not even started, and the deadline for the completion of the works expires on Friday," he notes.
He also says that urgent intervention is needed when it comes to the road from Ljutotuk to Kula Lakić.
"This road is currently in an alarming state – full of potholes and bumps, it represents a serious risk for traffic safety, especially for drivers of smaller vehicles. This is not only a matter of comfort, but of the direct safety of citizens, as damage to the crankcase occurs on a daily basis. We are asking for immediate filling and rehabilitation in order to enable safe use of the road."
Đuranović said that "it is time for action" when it comes to side roads.
"The roads that connect Podglavice, Gradina, Gornje Martiniće, Donje Selo, Luke, Kruščica, Glizice, Kula Lakića, Potkraj and Kopito Petrovića with the main road are in a deteriorating condition. It is necessary that, instead of temporary repairs, complete reconstruction of these roads in order to ensure their long-term functionality. It is time for the local authorities to withdraw the available funds and provide reconstruction while the works on the main road through Martinić are still being carried out."
He also says that the completion of land acquisition and signage are "a test for local administration".
Land expropriation cannot wait - the lack of promptness of municipal services further complicates the already complicated traffic conditions. Of particular concern is the lack of basic traffic signals on the first part of the road, from Burum to Ljutotuk. We are asking for permanent vertical signage to be installed by the end of the year at the latest to reduce the risk of accidents."
Đuranović said that, in order for the reconstructed road to justify its function as a fast and safe connection with the city center and Podgorica, they propose installing improved stationary radars. This, he adds, would eliminate the need for speed bumps, which impair traffic efficiency.
He says that the "time of excuses" has passed and that concrete actions are needed.
"The state of the infrastructure in Danilovgrad is not only a technical issue - it is a matter of safety, development and dignity of citizens. Citizens can no longer tolerate lack of promptness, delays and temporary solutions that lead to the permanent deterioration of the road condition. This moment requires decisive moves and proof that the interests of citizens are above bureaucratic obstacles and poor organization. We ask that the local administration immediately initiates the necessary reconstruction of the side roads, accelerates the purchase of land and ensures the installation of adequate signage. Every day of delay increases the risk of accidents and further endangers lives." in the announcement.
