On the occasion of the celebration of the International Human Rights Day, on December 10, in the hall of the Municipality of Nikšić, an exhibition of works by students of primary and secondary schools in Nikšić was opened on the topic "A world without borders - my vision of a world where there is no discrimination". Around 80 works by students of the Gymnasium, Vocational High School and primary schools "Ratko Žarić", "Milija Nikčević", "Dušan Bojović" and "Janko Bjelica" were exhibited, and visitors will have the opportunity to vote for the best works by December 30 special prizes will be awarded.
"I am especially happy that you, as a young generation, the generations that come and for whom this city and this country remain, are aware of the necessity of mutual respect and appreciation, because that is our greatest value. Never allow any politician to divide, argue and separate you , you should already be together, nurturing good relations and taking care of each other," said Nemanja Vuković, president of the Nikšić Municipal Assembly, opening the exhibition.
He is glad, as he pointed out, that councilors, local government officials, directors of public companies and services will have the opportunity to see the exhibition and understand the message that the students sent.
"The most important message of this exhibition is that we are all equal and that together we should protect this country as our home, and that this city is the home of all of us. We should overcome all divisions and the only division in society should be between humans and non-humans. Young people have always been the bearers of change and progress. We need to be united, united and united in order to build a better future for Nikšić and Montenegro. The municipality is your house and you will always have support from us for all your ideas initiatives. I believe that together we will build Nikšić as a better place for all of us to live", said Vuković and congratulated the exhibition participants and mentors, as well as the organizer - the Municipal Secretariat for Culture, Sports, Youth and Social Welfare.
Miloš Nenezić, from the aforementioned Secretariat, recalled the importance of the International Human Rights Day, and that on that occasion, in addition to the exhibition, they organized a panel discussion, in cooperation with the civil sector, on the topic "Sustainable inclusion of marginalized groups in the social life of Nikšić".
"Our goal of marking this date is to raise awareness of the importance of protecting and promoting human rights, especially in the context of the fight against discrimination and social injustice and the violation of basic rights and freedoms," said Nenezić.
The participants of the exhibition, students and their mentors, received certificates of appreciation and mugs with the exhibited works, and one mug was also given to the president of the SO.
