The Ministry of Labour, Employment and Social Dialogue, in cooperation with the Labor Fund, and providing the missing funds, will continue to work on resolving outstanding claims of former employees of Košuta.
The Ministry, in cooperation with the Labor Fund, started solving the almost 30-year-old issue and problems of former employees of Košuta, who had been trying to achieve the realization of the payment of outstanding claims through protests for many years.
"According to the meetings held, and the agreements reached, which were attended by representatives of former employees with their attorneys, the Labor Fund has started receiving documentation, after which individual requests will be processed, without waiting for the collection of complete documentation by all former employees", it is stated in the announcement of the Ministry.
The Ministry noted that the relevant decision was made precisely because the Labor Fund has funds provided by the budget for this year, which would be used for the primary purpose in accordance with the Fund's competences and to settle the claims of former workers, who, after the opening of bankruptcy proceedings almost 30 years ago , have so far failed to exercise their rights arising from their employment relationship in Košice.
