The draft law on the budget for 2025 foresees total funds in the amount of 380,6 million euros for the fields of education, science, culture and sports, it was announced at the 18th session of the Committee for Education, Science, Culture and Sports, where the details were presented budget plan.
MP Vaso Obradović (For the future of Montenegro) said that professional education was not given importance in the budget.
"Only 97.153 euros have been set aside for the professional development of teachers. It is not enough to raise teachers' salaries in order to restore the status they had in society, but we need to strengthen them through some other forms of support. We must show them that the system respects them, and that we can do with such small means," Obradović assessed.
The State Secretary in the Ministry of Education, Science and Innovation (MPNI), Dragana Babović, said that it is necessary to invest in the teaching staff and that she agrees with the members of the board on this matter.
"The Ministry of Education, Science and Innovation (MPNI) will receive 333,6 million euros from the current budget," said Bojan Paunović from the State Budget Directorate in the Ministry of Finance.
Of this, 321,4 million euros are intended for education, while funds for the development of science and technology are 6,8 million, and 5,4 million for innovation and technological development. 33,3 million euros will be allocated for the Ministry of Culture and Media, explained Paunović.
"1,7 million euros will be allocated for the Examination Center, 0,8 million euros will be allocated for the Professional Education Center, the Agency for Control and Quality Assurance of Higher Education will receive 0,4 million euros, the Montenegrin Academy of Sciences and Arts (CANU) will receive 2,9, 2,4 million, State Archives 1,1 million euros, Administration for the Protection of Cultural Property 0,4 million euros, Center for the Preservation and Development of Minority Culture 0,5 million euros, Matica Montenegrin 0,1 million EUR, and EUR XNUMX million to the Senate of the capital," Paunović said.
The President of the Board, Bojan Rovčanin, pointed out that the funds intended for MPNI have been increased by 20,5 million euros compared to the budget for 2024.
"The Ministry of Culture and Media has been allocated 33,3 million euros, which is 3,7 million more than the previous year. Of that amount, 29,1 million euros is intended for culture, while 4,2 million is intended for the media. This the funds include the financing of 12 cultural institutions," said Paunović.
He pointed out that the capital budget additionally foresees 10,9 million euros for education, 0,8 million for science and one million euros for culture.
